editI added this because it's notable about the compound's future: CNN just said that this place is going to be opened up as a museum, so that will be cool to let people all get to see it from everywhere, no matter who they are.
whoops had to change it to Fox News, but same story anyway.
please post photos of the kennedy compound. post multiple photos, as many people are curious about the estate.
- If you go to the external link (under Sources), it has some photos of the compound. I was curious what it looked like too, so that's where I went. Though we can use text from government sites copyright-free, I'm not sure that public domain status extends to photos as well.
- Also, sign your posts. You can do this with 3 or 4 tildes (~~~ or ~~~~). The latter is preferred, since it also includes a timestamp. — Frecklefoot | Talk 15:06, May 24, 2005 (UTC)
I have checked on the legality of posting the kennedy compound photos. These can be posted. I do not know how to post photographs, so please do it. Also, please post other photos of the compound.
- Two articles on how to upload images: Picture tutorial and Uploading images. But, in a nutshell, download the image onto your computer in a common format (JPG or PNG is best for photos). Then go to Wikipedia and click on "Upload file" from almost any Wikipedia page. Point to the file, upload it, and be sure to put where you got it from on the image page. Add it to the pertinent article. Sample syntax for an image:
- [[Image:MyLeftThumb.jpg|200px|right|A picture of my thumb]]
- I'm not going to upload the photos (too much stuff on my plate right now), but feel free to do it yourself. HTH. — Frecklefoot | Talk 14:04, August 10, 2005 (UTC)
Plagarism
editThis article appears to be largely lifted word for word from one of the sites referenced: http://www.nps.gov/history/history/online_books/presidents/site30.htm - maybe it should be deleted or at least substantially rewritten?78.151.110.150 (talk) 16:21, 19 October 2008 (UTC)
Teddy Kennedy composed the Irish toast to friendshp here?
editNot only is what is quoted here ungrammatical, but I doubt the claim about it. Cf. e,g., http://islandireland.com/Pages/folk/sets/toasts.html Dadofsam (talk) 19:46, 27 August 2009 (UTC)
Grammar?
editA quote from this article:
-
- A wine cellar designed after the hull of a ship and a sipping room, one of the Kennedy's favorite hideouts. Considered the place that Edward Kennedy coined the well known toast "There are good ships, and there are wood ships, the ships that sail the sea. But may the best ships are friendships, and may they always be."
