Reads Like a Fan Page and Vague
editThe article reads more like a fan page than an encyclopedia entry, e.g.
- long lists of (mostly irrelevant) Honors & Affiliations
- list of "Key Technologies" (itself an inappropriate term) and (unreferenced) hyperbole re. the technologies listed, without links to what those technologies might be.
- the article makes it look like K. H. worked in a vacuum, without mention of others equally involved (e.g. under Political Work)
- if the "...patents which are revolutionizing the mining, petroleum, water, carbon, energy and environment management of the world." are really that revolutionary, there must be numerous articles on these.
The article is also vague, e.g.
- "Scientific discoveries & contributions" lists fields of contribution, without being specific (e.g., what did K.H. contribute to "Fractal Geometry"? What is his publication, is that publication frequently cited, and considered important by other researchers in the field)

Agreed. Frankly this page does not look like a Wikipedia article. In addition to resembling a resume, it does not cite anything except for the citations for Kenneth's works themselves. IdentityCrisis (talk) 17:45, 18 August 2014 (UTC)
Alvarez
editThe problems with this page are much worse than that it reads like a promotional page. It is wildly inaccurate in places. For example, based on his general-audience book on the KT event, the article says it was Hsu's "discovery" that it was an extra-terrestrial impact that caused the extinction event, when it was Alvarez and Alvarez (1980) who first advanced the theory (and did much of the substantiation of it later), not Hsu. This page is a hagiography, not a biography. It wildly overstates Hsu's scientific and popular impact. A naive reader would be terribly misled by this article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.157.185.179 (talk) 09:21, 2 November 2009 (UTC)
Please join here and discuss where Hsu's scientific and popular impact was not the case. Zanze123 (talk) 16:46, 2 November 2009 (UTC)
The back cover of The Great Dying book said it was “Hsu’s discovery”. Also, both Hsu and the Alvarezes published their discovery of K/T impact in April, Hsu in the Nature, the first week of April, Alvarezes in Science a later week in April, 1980. Hsu suggested the cometary impact, with arguments for his postulate. The Alvarezes suggested asteroid for no particular reason. Hsu's manuscript was sent to Nature in December 1979. It was later suggested that the K/T could not have been caused by an asteroid, due to the frequency of impact (impact speed). Walter Alvarez then only talked about cometary impact. Alvarez, you are totally right. I wonder why people like Zanze are interested in publishing such nonsense about KH. Zanze knows too many details - amazing. Is Zanze perhaps Ken Hsu himself? Lost his mind? Ken Hsu, you should delete this wiki - be honest and stay the scientist you were. You have made some nice contributions, but don't mention and don't elevate every field excursion you participated to a scientific research campaign. Work out your real contributions otherwise they get buried under all this junk. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 178.194.108.131 (talk) 23:48, 7 March 2012 (UTC)
