Title
editThe article title seems a bit odd to me, as I mainly think of the subject as a chef. Perhaps (food writer) would be better than just (writer)? Andrew🐉(talk) 12:57, 4 November 2022 (UTC)
- He seems to be best remembered for being a juggernaut in the cookbook industry, so it's somewhere between "(chef)" and "(writer)". As far as I'm aware "(food writer)" would almost never be an option, given that the info contained in the parantheses should be as brief as possible, and "food writer" is merely a subset of "writer". Readers will figure out soon enough just what kind of "writer" he was anyhow, if they stumbled upon the page; and if they didn't, then the title hardly matters. TV
editThe article needs some content about his TV work, which will be the way he became most famous. Andrew🐉(talk) 12:57, 4 November 2022 (UTC)
- Yes, unfortunately I haven't managed to find any sources regarding his TV work. Kingoflettuce (talk) 13:03, 4 November 2022 (UTC)
- Checking, I don't think he was actually a TV chef -- the obits in the Indy and NYT don't mention this. I suspect that, where this occurs, it's due to confusion with Ken Hom.
- What the sources do say is that he was a champion tennis player so we should say something about that.

- I mentioned his appearance at the Davis Cup in "Early life". Kingoflettuce (talk) 14:25, 4 November 2022 (UTC)
- I saw that on a second reading and have adjusted. Will leave it alone for now but continue to look out for more. Andrew🐉(talk) 14:30, 4 November 2022 (UTC)

Review
I'm starting a review. I've eaten at Memories of China and so am surprised that we're only getting to this now. Andrew🐉(talk) 12:01, 4 November 2022 (UTC)

Policy compliance:
- Adequate sourcing:
- Neutral:
- Free of copyright violations, plagiarism, and close paraphrasing: - Gets a moderate Earwig score of 26.5% which seems to be due to the use of quotations. These seem to be attributed and reasonably appropriate so I reckon it's ok.
