name of article

edit

There is no direct support in the two references of this article (both online) that the name of this place is "Kensington Station". The closest is this quote: "Because of his great influence, Warner was able to convince others to name the town, the post office and train station "Kensington" when the town was incorporated in 1894." That is unclear whether the train station is named Kensington Train Station, or other possible options.

The station is included in the NRHP-listed Kensington Historic District, whose NRHP application/inventory documents would be one good source for how the station is named.

Also, the Kensington Historical Society's archives webpage includes a historic photo showing the station building and labelling it "B&O Railway station, 1901".

"Kensington Station" as name seems to suggest a location in the Kensington area of London, to me, so perhaps "Kensington Station (Kensington, Maryland)" would be better.

"Kensington (MARC station)" is an alternative, too.

I would prefer for there to be more actual sources found which refer to the name of the station building, if one exists, from the NRHP and the Kensington Historical Society, before proposing a rename of this article. doncram (talk) 21:59, 23 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

incorrect address

edit

The address is currently stated to be 10417 Howard Avenue. This is incorrect. The approximate address is 3701 Howard Ave, Kensington, MD 20895, which is the address given by MapQuest(http://www.mapquest.com/us/maryland/business-kensington/kensington-marc-station-303176738). This is about half a mile from the address in the article. Cerberus (talk) 13:30, 1 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
