"The difference is the "K" stylized in red, instead of the Kenwood (Electronics) Corporation with a stylized "W" in red." - An illustration would be pretty useful. --Oop 15:02, 10 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

company infobox added

edit

I added the company infobox. It is very hard to find the operating income and revenue figures. I have used Google finance and Yahoo finance to source the information.

Missing TS-520

edit

This is a great article! But where is mention of the TS-520 ? This radio is arguably one of the most remembered and appreciated Kenwood rigs of all time. Even today this transceiver can sell for $500+ at a hamfest. It sold new for $325! While the other models were great radios in their own right, the TS-520 ranks alongside the TS-930 in esteem in the amateur radio community of the 80's, and 90's. I am new to the Wiki and would like to contribute. So perhaps once I get my bearings I can contribute a couple of lines about this famous radio.

I agree. The TS-520 seems to be a legitimate predecessor to the TS-820. Ferritecore (talk) 01:27, 26 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

I am very new to Wikipedia but not to Amateur Radio or Trio-Kenwood equipment

The TS500 series goes back a lot further than the TS520. It is predated by the TS500, TS510 and TS515 in that order

Also the TS900 series began with the TS900, a very expensive and well specified transciever from the mid 70s I believe

There is also the total ommission of the "Kenwood Twins", separate transmitter and receiver. There were I believe 3 versions of this, T- and R-599 in two models (silver and a brown/gold front panel), and the TX- and JR-599 which came earlier. I am not 100% certain of these model numbers; they may have just been different designations for the European and US markets. 73 Fred G4BWP

If you feel the TS-520 needs to be here, why not write it? That's the whole point about Wikipedia. Drkirkby (talk) 07:37, 22 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Splitting of article

edit

I see no discussion, no consensus and no need for this split and I am reintegrating the article. Please discuss and achieve consensus before making such major changes. GlassFET 17:36, 22 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Limited Information Here

edit

Kenwood is such a storied company in the audio world it is a shame there is almost no information about the brand on Wikip. other than the short synopsis on the orgin of the firm. Please consider adding informaton about their important hi-fi models, the Accuphase spin-off, and mention that test equipment was also produced. Anyone? 99.32.160.175 (talk) 03:33, 11 November 2013 (UTC)Reply
