This logic is not controversial, recent, or particular to the United States. Israel made the exact same determination in 1961 over the abduction of Adolf Eichmann to Israeli soil. A person in a country is subject to the laws of that country, even if they were abducted and sent there against their will. Such people do not have immunity from prosecution. That is a jurisprudential fact in any country whose legal system derives from the Roman/English legal paradigm. Which is over half the planet. This logic does not legitimize the initial abduction, which can still be pursued as a crime in the country where it happened. However, the fact of the abduction cannot be used to declare a mistrial in the country of destination. --76.217.81.152 19:21, 2 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
