Here is the discussion related to this request, transferred here from WP:RM:
- This is premature. If and when Kevin Cooper (striker) actually gets deleted, per current AfD, so that Kevin Cooper (midfielder) is the only footballer left, it may make sense to go ahead with the move. —Hqb 21:08, 27 October 2007 (UTC)
- Kevin Cooper (striker) is not a notable footballer, and his article will almost certainly be deleted. Moving Kevin Cooper (midfielder) to Kevin Cooper (footballer) is merely proactivity. - PeeJay 10:26, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
- It irks the hell out of me that the editor who would insist on making such an argument here is the very same one who nominated the striker for deletion, and was so damned impatient that he could not even wait for the results of his nomination there before making this proposed move of the other one. The disambiguation is still needed, even if one of them doesn't have an article. Gene Nygaard 20:55, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
- Why disambiguate between an existent article and a non-existent one? It just doesn't make any sense. Kevin Cooper (midfielder) is the only footballer by that name to be notable enough to have his own article, so logically that article should be located at Kevin Cooper (footballer). - PeeJay 22:57, 28 October 2007 (UTC)

Requested move
editKevin Cooper (midfielder) → Kevin Cooper (footballer) — Because he is the only notable Kevin Cooper to have played professional football (soccer). —PeeJay 18:08, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
- As the striker's article was deleted, the disambiguation page had become superfluous. I have moved this page in accordance with the move request discussed here. Dekimasuよ! 02:33, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
