This article is a bit lacking in references and some parts seem to be wholesale copying of other pages. As an example, the rika system paragraph seems to be base on this site. We need experts to contribute or at the very least, document and record oral history from elderly Kikuyu. I fear that with the passage of time and lack of oral history, we may be left with bits and pieces. Lmwangi (talk) 12:58, 6 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

I agree that there is a lack of referencing on this page. And one should always bear in mind that Wikipedia articles must not contain original researchGrahamSmith (talk) 15:37, 6 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

This far what I have read from the Wikipedia seems to be a well informed updating. Thumbs up!!! By John Thuku

Subsections to be merged in 'Culture'

edit

I think subsections 1.2.2 to 1.2.3.3 should be added to section 3 'Culture' as the definition of culture according to the Center for Advanced Research on Language Acquisition, 'the shared patterns of behaviors and interactions, cognitive constructs, and affective understanding that are learned through a process of socialization.' As the subsections previously stated deal with the social, religious and political behaviour of the Kikuyu, I think they should be added to section 3 'Culture'. I am a newcomer registered Wikipedia editor and so may not be experienced enough to avoid certain mistakes in editing, so please be patient with me. Thanks! Death of Waiyaki wa Hinga

edit

According to the article on Waiyaki wa Hinga, he was not buried alive or even deliberately killed. It would be good if the two articles were reconciled on the basis of authoritative sources.Bill (talk) 02:50, 24 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
