"Arab terrorist" and other loaded terms
editPer WP:LABEL, "Value-laden labels—such as calling an organization a cult, an individual a racist, terrorist, or freedom fighter, or a sexual practice a perversion—may express contentious opinion and are best avoided unless widely used by reliable sources to describe the subject, in which case use in-text attribution." The NY Times article doesn't say terrorist and the Jpost article redirects to their main website. A Ynet news article [1] does not call them "Arab terrorists" either.--TM 00:31, 1 October 2010 (UTC)
- There are a number of references to them as terrorists, "Arab" is not a loaded term, and I don't think there is any dispute as to whether they were Arab.--Epeefleche (talk) 23:54, 5 October 2010 (UTC)
Proposed move to "Death of Rabbi Meir Hai"
editWikipedia has Death of the Bytyqi brothers, Death of David Kelly, Death of David Coughlin, Death of Dean Shillingsworth, Death of Dianne Brimble, Death of Edgar Allan Poe, Death of Eduardo Frei Montalva, Death of Elli Perkins,Death of Gareth Williams, Death of Gerry Ryan, Death of Hugh O'Connor, Death of Ian Tomlinson, Death of Jean Charles de Menezes, Death of John Lennon, Death of John Ward, Death of Joseph Smith, Jr., Death of Kaja Ballo, Death of Kent Leppink, Death of Khaled Mohamed Saeed, Death of Kurt Cobain, Death of Linda Norgrove, Death of Lisa McPherson, Death of Ludwig van Beethoven, Death of Marilyn Monroe, Death of Marvin Gaye, Death of Michael Jackson, Death of Mozart, Death of Neda Agha-Soltan, Death of Osama Bin Laden, Death of Philip Gale, Death of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Death of Ramin Pourandarjani, Death of Salvador Allende, Death of Seyed Ali Mousavi, Death of Slobodan Milošević, Death of Stevie Ray Vaughan, Death of Subhas Chandra Bose, Death of Sébastien Briat, Death of Tina Watson, Death of Victoria Snelgrove. The only other "Killing of..." article is Killing of British tourists in Yemen, which I think is a different situation since it reflects a need to distinguish those tourists who were killed from others who died naturally. - In the "Death of..." articles, the individuals name all appear to be notable in and of themselves. Rabbi Meir Hai is not, just like those British tourists. What is notable is the terrorist attack, not the individual, which leads to me argue that the title of the article should not have his name and instead be renamed to reflect the event; something like "Highway 57 terrorist attack" or "Highway 57 shooting" or something of the sort. Thoughts? Plot Spoiler (talk) 02:54, 12 May 2011 (UTC)
- Many people on the list above are notable only for the circumstances of their deaths, a WP:SINGLEEVENT as it's called in Wikispeak, e.g. Baby P or Neda Agha-Soltan. This case is different from that of the British tourists in that there is no need to distinguish this Meir Hai from some other Meir Hai who died of natural causes.
