does not adhere to the policy regarding the biographies of living persons

edit

This article does not adhere to the policy regarding the biographies of living persons. It contains not a single citation from a reliable news source. It appears to be a vanity article, as it contains a plethora of unverified information about the subject's personal life, with no sourcing whatsoever. The only external references are interviews on websites, discographies on music archiving sites like Discogs, etc. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.16.3.12 (talk) 00:28, 24 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Exactly: the article needs sources - if for no other reason than to indicate that it meets the relevant notability guidelines. Without evidence from third-party reliable sources, the article is liable to be deleted. AndyTheGrump (talk) 03:45, 24 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
Also, the Silent Records page related to Mr. Cascone does not have any reliable sources. The entire contents of this page should be regarded as contentious, until such a time that reliable news sources are produced. Not sure where or how to propose deletion of the article, but there is so much biographical information here with no reliable sources, it has to have been written by either Mr. Cascone or someone close to him. The body of the article precedes the sections of the page, which only includes discography and external links with no verifiability. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.16.3.12 (talk) 22:44, 25 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
The removal of personal information is commendable, but there are still no third-party reliable sources to validate many of the other statements in this article. For example, Cascone may have mentioned that he is a student of the Schillinger system in an online interview, but there is simply no reliable source listed to back it up. Likewise, everything else in the article is questionable, from the history of his various business endeavors to his current projects. Again, this seems like an article written by the artist himself. This is clearly a matter of a page that needs to be updated with sources and references to make it come in line with wikipedia standards. Deleting it is counterproductive as Kim Cascone is a well know composer whose work has been feature at a number of major festivals. While the page may have flaws Cascone himself is certainly notable enough to merit a page on wikipedia. Wiki editors and contributors would be much more helpful if they spent time improving articles as opposed to just nominating them for deletion.DoctorBoggs (talk) 21:27, 28 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
