The result of the move request was: not moved. A hatnote already exists on this article; I will add a hatnote to the director's article shortly, at the request of Sawol. (non-admin closure) JudgeRM (talk to me) 02:03, 26 December 2016 (UTC)
Kim Ho-soon (cyclist) → Kim Ho-soon – WP:TITLE Sawol (talk) 12:07, 14 December 2016 (UTC)
- This is a contested technical request (permalink). — Amakuru (talk) 12:12, 14 December 2016 (UTC)
- Oppose - Kim Ho-soon should be a redirect to Kim Ho-sun. They are as far as I know the same name, and actually, the only reference on teh cyclist's page shows is name as Kim Ho-sun anyway. Thanks — Amakuru (talk) 12:12, 14 December 2016 (UTC)
- Oppose - although the u is different in Korean, considerable scope for confusion here. (cyclist) is needed. In ictu oculi (talk) 14:48, 14 December 2016 (UTC)
- WP:hatnote can solve some confusion. Although Kim Ho-sun means Kim Ho-soon 김호순 or 김호선, Kim Ho-soon cannot be Kim Ho-sun 김호선. Sawol (talk) 14:57, 14 December 2016 (UTC)
- All the same, leave well alone. With the variations in transcription "(cyclist)" for a cyclist stub is just about as helpful as titles get. In ictu oculi (talk) 19:02, 14 December 2016 (UTC)
- WP:hatnote can solve some confusion. Although Kim Ho-sun means Kim Ho-soon 김호순 or 김호선, Kim Ho-soon cannot be Kim Ho-sun 김호선. Sawol (talk) 14:57, 14 December 2016 (UTC)
- Oppose per the above two rationales. Lugnuts Precious bodily fluids 19:25, 14 December 2016 (UTC)
- Support. This is quintessential Unnecessary disambiguation. Kim Ho-soon currently redirects to Kim Ho-soon (cyclist). We do not add parenthetic disambiguation to titles when there is no other article to disambiguate from. --В²C ☎ 23:39, 16 December 2016 (UTC)
- Oppose - Mere small details don't help readers much. WP:small details is too vague to handle this matter. George Ho (talk) 08:26, 18 December 2016 (UTC)
- Korean names are similar. How many Korean names there are like this? One character of Hangul consists of initial consonants + medial vowels + final consonants or no use. Using the vowel oo, ㄱ ㄲ ㄴ ㄷ ㄸ ㄹ ㅁ ㅂ ㅃ ㅅ ㅆ ㅇ ㅈ ㅉ ㅊ ㅋ ㅌ ㅍ ㅎ + ㅜ + ㄱ ㄴ ㄹ ㅁ ㅂ ㅇ null, 19×1×7 characters can be generated. According to above votes, Korean names with koon, goon 군 should be redirect to the disambiguation pages of the names with kun 건 근 군. The oppose result of this discussion will be thrown into great confusion. ㅜ is transcribed as u or oo. ㅓ is transcribed as u or eo. oo is ㅜ. oo is not ㅓ. u is ㅜ or ㅓ. oo ⊂ u (oo ≠ u) mathematically. Why don't they use the hat note? Sawol (talk) 12:39, 19 December 2016 (UTC)
