Kim Woo-jin → Kim Woojin – Move from Kim Woo-jin to Kim Woojin per WP:COMMONNAME. While on paper the official romanization of his name is "Kim Woo-jin", Kim has never used a hyphen in his name professionally and has never been commonly referred to that way. Kim is most commonly known as either "Kim Woojin" or, during his period with Stray Kids, mononymously as just "Woojin". Proposing removing the hyphen from article title to properly reflect the most common way Kim's name is presented. Also presenting Google Trends data - [1] - The only time where the hyphenated version went above the non-hyphenated version was during the 2024 Olympics when Kim Woo-jin (archer) was competing. It is notable that the Kim (the archer) is commonly referred to with the hyphenated version but Kim (the singer) is not. RachelTensions (talk) 15:48, 13 September 2024 (UTC)

Also presenting Wikipedia:Naming conventions (Korean) which states that "Personal names should generally be romanized according to their common usage in English sources." and that given names should be hyphenated only "if there is no personal preference and no established English spelling". • Oppose. His name is hyphenated by Maeil Business Newspaper [2], Korea JoongAng Daily [3], Rolling Stone India [4], The Korea Times [5], Forbes [6], and so on. In accordance with WP:NCKO#Given name, "If there is no personal preference and no established English spelling, hyphenate the syllables, with only the first syllable capitalized". ✗plicit 00:18, 14 September 2024 (UTC)

  I would counter that there are just as many, if not more, articles by sources considered reliable by Wikipedia that refer to him without the hyphen: Forbes [7], Rolling Stone India [8], Elle Magazine [9], NME [10], Korea Herald [11], Panorama (magazine) [12].

  In regards to the second part of your note regarding WP:NCKO#Given name: I would call out that the first part of that naming standard states "If there is no personal preference".

  Given that all of Kim's music is credited without the hyphen ([13]), all of his social media exclusively refers to him without the hyphen ([14] [15] [16] [17]), his official website exclusively refers to him without the hyphen ([18]), and his agency refers to him without the hyphen ([19]), this would lead me to believe that it is Kim's personal preference that his name be romanized without the hyphen.

  Given the hyphen versus no hyphen news articles could go either way (and do go either way, even within different articles from the same source), I think it would be appropriate, in this instance, to defer to the subject of the article's demonstrated personal preference. @RachelTensions I was wondering why you keep wikilinking the album name in single section? As far as I know and how the common practice in discography, it shouldn't be wikilink. 𝙹𝚒𝚢𝚊𝚗 忌炎 (𝚃𝚊𝚕𝚔) 06:01, 15 October 2024 (UTC)
