Pre-GAN note
editBefore you put this up for GAN, you should go through and clean up each mention of the name of a reviewer. You should not refer to a reviewer by their last name alone if you have not yet said who they are and who they were writing for. Also, check to make sure that the reference at the end of each sentence matches the text that is in the sentence (example: if the sentence says "Diep called the single...", make sure that the citation at the end of that sentence is to an article by Diep). – Jonesey95 (talk) 13:06, 26 February 2019 (UTC)
- @Jonesey95: The entire second paragraph of the "Critical reception" section was moved down from the "Background and composition" section by EggOfReason during the copy-edit, and they did not adjust anything accordingly. This is what caused the error in full names appearing later in the article. If they were going to reorganize paragraphs, then they should have revised the prose accordingly. Though, I admit the sourcing issues not matching the sentences was my fault (not sure how that happened). No offense to that user, but the copy-edit introduced problems. I did not find it helpful at all. Due to my experience with the copy-edit, I have no interest in pursuing this as a GAN. I will no longer do any work with this article. - I'm sorry that you had a bad experience. I know that you have submitted many articles for GOCE edits, and I hope that you will continue to do so. In this case, I would recommend a note to the editor who made the questionable paragraph move to explain the problems it caused (while thanking them for their good-faith efforts, of course). At this point, we have no indication (that I have seen) that the editor was done with their edits, so this may all just be a misunderstanding. We are all volunteers here, and you can't expect excellent results from everyone. – Jonesey95 (talk) 13:58, 26 February 2019 (UTC)
- Thank you for the message. And it is probably just a misunderstanding. I do not mind the paragraph move by itself, but it caused a lot of issues with wikilinks and the actual prose that should have been handled either with the paragraph move or roughly around the same time. I have no personal issue with the editor themselves, but I just have an issue with their copy-editing in this very specific instance. Aoba47 (talk) 15:20, 26 February 2019 (UTC)
- I just checked back in on all this, and I can say that I was not completed with the copy edit. However, the paragraph does seem to be fixed up in its current position, and I will say that had it not been for the further edits, my copy-edit would still not have been as satisfactory as it is now. Apologies to Aoba47 for the bumpy ride, and thanks to Jonesey for the help. I think the GOCE request can be marked as completed: something I'll do once I have the time. –eggofreasontalk 15:50, 26 February 2019 (UTC)
