Revolutionary War
editRevised the section on the Revolutionary war including changing the name to the more accurate Battle of Wyoming. Many Wikipedia articles that reference the Battle of Wyoming state that 300 "settlers" were killed. This is misleading as use of the word "settler" suggests that women and children were massacred. "Patriot militia" could be used as an alternative, however, about 45 soldiers from the Continental Army also died. "Patriot soldiers" encompasses both militia and Continentals. Also misleading is the use of the phrase "British forces" because it infers that British regulars participated in the battle when in fact the only "British" present were Butler's Rangers, a Loyalist provincial regiment.
