Could he be the greatest QB in Tulsa history?
editWith the likes of Tom Brady, and Joe Montana that have come out of Oklahoma high school football, Kirk Francis definitely had some high hopes when he received his full ride scholarship to the University of Tulsa. But there are many critics and supporters who believe that Kirk could indeed live up to, and surpass the hype around him. There is also a small group that believe he could indeed surpass legends such as the late Peyton Manning and Josh Heupel and become the greatest to ever touch the gridiron.
Many contradict this claim by stating that he is only a Sophomore in college and has very low drip factor, not intimidating powerful defenses such as Northwestern and BYU. Supporters of Francis make the point that his arm is very impressive and and the very presence of Kirk Francis caused Nick Saban to leave college football. Also, Tom Brady was notorious for being slow and clumsy, yet he is still called the GOAT.
Mobility seems to be an issue for the young Tulsan, but I showed up to the Tulsa skills training to check out the rising star and I must say I was impressed. He reminds many of Lamar Jackson with his quick feet. But it is clear that, in the pocket, he is rather slow on his feet, often getting chased down by outside linebackers. Many supports don't see this as a problem because it is prophesied that his aura is blinding to the eye.
In his high school days, he was a once in a lifetime talent at Metro Christian Academy, and in the state championship game, he threw for 630 yards and 7 touchdowns, breaking state records set by Patrick Mahomes. This kind of talent doesn't go unnoticed by big colleges, and that is why Georgia and Oregon came to his pro-day to meet him.
With all of this, many think Francis could become the greatest quarterback ever, and the answer is obvious... it is yes. Staticians predict that he will surpass Tom Brady's 7 rings with some simulations foretell that he will get up to 15 super bowl wins, and will throw for 1.76 million yards and 30,000 touchdowns in his 35 seasons in the league. He will become the first QB to play for every single team and will donate all of his money to Metro Christian Academy and Tulsa University, his high school and college. 199.26.116.147 (talk) 16:24, 4 October 2024 (UTC)
- It’s definitely exciting to see a young talent like Kirk Francis generating such buzz! The comparisons to legends like Tom Brady and Peyton Manning really highlight the expectations surrounding him. His impressive high school stats, particularly breaking records set by Patrick Mahomes, suggest he has the potential to make a significant impact at the collegiate level and beyond.
- While critics might point to his youth and mobility issues, it’s worth noting that many successful quarterbacks have faced similar doubts early in their careers. The ability to throw accurately and make smart decisions in the pocket can often outweigh raw athleticism, as we've seen with players like Brady. Plus, his presence and the impact he seems to have had on figures like Nick Saban is an intriguing narrative that adds to his mystique.
- The bold predictions about his future achievements are fun to consider, but they certainly set the bar high! It will be fascinating to see how he develops in the next few years and whether he can live up to the hype. The excitement surrounding him could propel him to greatness, but ultimately, it will be his performance on the field that determines his legacy.
- First, his record-setting performance in high school—throwing for 630 yards and 7 touchdowns in a state championship game—demonstrates not just talent but also a level of composure under pressure that is crucial for any quarterback. Breaking records previously held by someone as talented as Patrick Mahomes is no small feat and speaks volumes about his potential.
- Critics may raise concerns about his youth and mobility, but history has shown us that many successful quarterbacks have faced similar challenges early in their careers. For example, Tom Brady was not initially known for his athleticism, yet he became the GOAT through relentless work ethic, football IQ, and the ability to adapt his game. Kirk's impressive arm strength and accuracy could very well make him a similar success story.
- Furthermore, the impact he seems to have on others, such as causing Nick Saban to reconsider his coaching career, adds a fascinating dimension to his narrative. That level of influence suggests that Francis possesses not only physical talent but also an intangible quality that can inspire teammates and intimidate opponents.
- While some may doubt his current mobility, it’s worth noting that many quarterbacks find ways to improve their footwork and pocket awareness over time. His quick feet, reminiscent of Lamar Jackson, show that he has the potential to develop into a dual-threat quarterback, which can be a game-changer in today's NFL.
- The predictions of surpassing legends like Brady and Manning might seem ambitious, but they reflect the high hopes that fans and analysts have for his future. If he continues to develop and harness his skills, who knows what records he could break? The passion and commitment he’s shown so far suggest that he’s not just a player to watch; he could become a defining figure in football history.
- In short, the combination of his remarkable high school achievements, potential for growth, and the excitement he brings to the game makes it entirely reasonable to believe that Kirk Francis could become one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play. The future looks bright, and I can't wait to see how it unfolds! 199.26.116.147 (talk) 16:46, 4 October 2024 (UTC)
