Kirklevington Country Club
editAs it closed late 1990s - early 2000 and the site is now just a group of houses it might be a good idea to have a separate entry for it with just very brief note, and link, on the Kirklevington "village" entry. What do you think? Beckstones (talk) 12:39, 14 April 2011 (UTC)Beckstones
- I agree. Andrew (talk) 21:27, 14 April 2011 (UTC)
- Perhaps Andrew you'd care to do that as I wouldn't know how. Beckstones (talk) 00:35, 15 April 2011 (UTC)
- Done! Although the kirk article really needs a good clean up. Andrew (talk) 10:38, 15 April 2011 (UTC)
Spelling
editi wonder how long this has been the preferred spelling? Youngs lists the normal spelling as "Kirk Leavington" and gives "Kirk Levington" as the version used ecclesiastically. Morwen - Talk 22:03, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
Signs around the area spell it both 'Kirklevington' and 'Kirkleavington'
It's about the most exciting thing about this particular collection of upper middle class households.

I lived in Kirklevington around 1979-1982, and nobody used the spelling 'Kirkleavington' in day to day use; it was 'Kirklevington'. I suspect 'Kirkleavington' is an older spelling that fell into disuse.
True, it wasn't the most dynamic place in the world, but it was a nice place to live. 72.16.169.146 (talk) 22:15, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
