Pronouns
editIt seems that she/her is used for Kiruko, but the fact remains that Kiruko's brain was originally from a male. So should it be female?
Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Gender identity says that the pronouns used should be the pronouns that the subject self-identifies as (unless they are neopronouns. Does anyone who has read or watched the manga or anime know what Kiruko self-identifies as? Sangsangaplaz (Talk to me! I'm willing to help) 04:25, 18 November 2024 (UTC)
- That's the part that is killing me because there are times Kiruko uses her female identity to talks with Maru in the beginning and in other occasions the male. At first Kiruko acts like she is female but when Maru confesses his love, she replies that Kiruko is actually a man. She claims that their chemistry only exists because they are male. In a latter episode when Kiruko is taking a bath, Kiruko simply walks off without any shame of being naked claiming he is Haruki. From that point it seems Kiruko addressed themself as a male but there are other similar situations like when she meets Toru that Kiruko uses Japanese male words like Ore which causes Maru to correct her to use Watashi (women use this in Japanese) to keep her disguise of "Kiriko". The only time Ishiguro addressed the character's gender identiy is in the creation section where it goes: "Kiruko represents a gradation of spiritual sexuality." https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/interview/2023-09-25/crafting-a-hell-in-heaven-with-heavenly-delusion-creator-masakazu-ishiguro/.201179 Feel fee to revise or correct me anything I did wrong though. Pronouns
editTo avoid confusion i recommend just using they/them due to the fact that the character has a female body and a brain that originates from a male. It seems like all the article is already changed to this but if there are any outliers, try fixing them. I'll search for them myself. Sangsangaplaz (Talk to me! - Thanks. I already gave it a revision after the chat. Tintor2 (talk) 19:02, 26 November 2024 (UTC)
