Removed paragraph
editI removed this paragraph from the article:
- As technology has developed, the need for human-machine interaction has grown, and with that growth, the need arises for machines to become user friendly. For intense human-machine interactions, humanoid robots can alleviate the inherent difficulties in human-machine understanding. Anthropomorphic robots that include facial expressions, voice inflections, body posture and gestures support the modes of communication that humans use, and this diminishes the human-machine complexities that exist between us. One robot being developed to facilitate this principle is Kismet.
It seemed very inappropriate for the topic and it was the very first paragraph — possibly it was copied from an essay? I think I'll go and Copyscape check it after I save this message. — JeremyTalk 03:11, 8 August 2006 (UTC)
- Good call. If one was writing a book about Kismet perhaps that would be a good intro, but IMO a Wikipedia article shouldn't have much before the subject. --Alynna 02:05, 23 August 2006 (UTC)

Emotions Vs facial expressions
edit"a machine that can recognize and simulate emotions"
This confuses emotions with associated facial expressions. It is the latter that are recognised and simulated by Kismet, not the former, i.e. Kismet does not "recognize and simulate emotions", it recognizes and simulates facial expressions that are associated with emotions. 81.131.103.168 (talk) 07:49, 24 July 2024 (UTC)
