Fisto's Death

Do we need to have Kit Fisto's death displayed as a 2 second film loop? It's a bit hard to watch and slightly distracting, and I think that a photo could do the same job.Dr. B 09:28, 9 December 2005 (UTC)

I don't think it should be removed, just replaced with a still image that shows the same event. However, it could be removed if you want to.Dr. B 16:39, 9 December 2005 (UTC)

4 or 5?

The article on Minor jedi characters, under Fisto, Kit, claims there were 5 leaders of the Jedi on Geonosis, because it includes one Padawan.

This actual article for Kit Fisto claims it was only 4 Jedi, and omits the the Padawan.

I don't know which one is correct, but I would assume its only 4.

Anakin was given command as a Padawan, so it's possible there were 5. I don't know for sure, though. --Jack (Cuervo) 19:33, 23 Jun 2005 (UTC)

He was given command in the Clone Wars series, I believe -- though, now that you mention it, I'm not sure if he went through the trials first. I'm going to re-watch the DVD now, just to double-check, and because there's nothing good on TV right now. :-) --Jack (Cuervo) 07:04, 14 July 2005 (UTC)

Eh. Can't find the DVD. Clone Wars (cartoon)#Anakin Skywalker has it listed briefly as "Anakin leading forces", but I don't know if it's in chronological order. Ah, I meant it was possible that there was a padawan commanding troops on Geonosis, not Anakin specifically. Sorry, bad phrasing on my part. :-) I was replying to this:

Was trying to establish precedent for padawan learners being given command, but I don't know how common or rare it was. (Afterthought edit: I'm still not sure if he was given command before or after the trials, but I'm relatively sure it was before.)

recent changes to this article

I've been watching this article and I must say that I don't think it needs quite so many images of Kit Fisto. I mean I like the big one of him in the table and the new one of "Kit Fisto on the Battle of Geonosis." But the other two need to go. This is because of a three major reasons,

• 1: They don't seem to be licensed correctly, and
• 2: They are of low quality, and
• 3: they really don't add anything to this article.

The other problem I have with these images are their locations on the page, I just don't think it looks reasonable on a standard 1024 x 768 monitor. -- Malo 03:51, 18 October 2005 (UTC)

Again I have reverted the changes to this article. All these changes consisted of was three pictures (2 new, and 1 changed). The problem still remains that these images are not adequately licensed. And I still feel that they don't really add anything to the story of Kit Fisto. -- Malo 23:25, 18 October 2005 (UTC)

I agree that the pictures are extraneous. I removed two of them (the one I left is fairly dynamic, so I think it works well enough). I'm not crazy about it's positioning (right alignment under the infobox), but it looks even worse on the left (in my opinion). I also trimmed the image's caption. If someone else wants to remove the remaining screenshot altogether, I doubt I'll cry. EVula 19:02, 27 February 2006 (UTC)

In-universe

Anyone seriously interested in improving the article should consider adding some real world related info, e.g. regarding the concept, creation, and/or function of the character within the Star Wars narrative etc. Please consult our writing about fiction guideline, which also includes a list of exemplary articles.

There are currently three featured articles on Star Wars characters: Palpatine, Padmé Amidala, and Jabba the Hutt. What sets them aside from most of the other SW character articles is the effort to write from the real world perspective. Pay particular attention to paragraphs like Jabba the Hutt#Concept and creation, Palpatine#Concept and creation, and Padmé Amidala#Characterization.

Also take a look at Darth Vader, which despite its lack of reliable, published third-party secondary sources features interesting sections on e.g. #Character creation and concepts and Darth Vader as a #Cultural figure.

Even though reliable sources may be tough to come up with, any effort to introduce coherently written real world aspects will be greatly appreciated, because it contributes to the depth of the article and accurate coverage of the topic, and thereby makes for an improved reading experience and increases the encyclopedic value of the article.
