Images subject to copyright
editHi HLHJ, I notice that you have uploaded several images to Wikimedia Commons under the good-faith assumption that, since they were used in an article published by a US agency, they were the work of a US government employee and thereby not subject to copyright. Unfortunately, the images were clearly produced by SkySail GMBH and presumably used by permission. This does not extend to a blanket license to use that material. I'm sorry, they would have added to the article, but they are clearly not freely licensed. The best course of action would be to go to Wikimedia Commons and request an assessment of their proper licensing. Cheers, User:HopsonRoad 01:55, 1 April 2017 (UTC)
Isn't widely used (compared with other "rigs")
I suggest to merge with Kitesurfing and Kite (about equipement) D1gggg (talk) 14:46, 24 October 2017 (UTC)
- That's a good question, D1gggg. There doesn't seem to be a universally accepted term for just the kite "rig"—the source of wind propulsion. Most other "rigs" have permanent components, like spars and standing rigging, which is absent here unless one counts the spool on which the tether is wound as a permanent component.
- The difficulty with merging this article with kitesurfing is that is both a sport and a type of watercraft (a kite-board)—one of several types that may be powered by a kite. Merging a kite-powered freighter or trawler with the kitesurfing article doesn't seem to be a good fit. Perhaps the article should be about "Kite power" and apply to a variety of vehicles and vessels. Sincerely, User:HopsonRoad 01:29, 25 October 2017 (UTC)
