Suckling vs sucking
Mothers suckle. Kittens suck.
The photo that reads "A litter of kittens suckling their mother" needs to be edited to read "A litter of kittens being suckled by their mother" or "A mother suckling her litter of kittens".
The article's locked atm, so if someone with clearance will have to correct it. :) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 95.148.158.106 (talk) 14:05, 6 August 2011 (UTC)
I agree, suckling is a synonym of breadfeeding, to use a more familiar word. However, I believe it should say, "A litter of kittens suckling from their mother."
Turiyag (talk) 12:26, 6 September 2011 (UTC)turiyag
- Nope, you have it backwards. The way it is right now is correct. Also, not sure what "breadfeeding" is. Breastfeeding? - superβεεcat 03:02, 7 September 2011 (UTC)

Please add this link to external links: How Old Are They? http://www.straycatalliance.org/cats-101/kitten-care/how-old-are-they
It's a page explaining how to determine a kitten's age, and would be useful to people interested in kittens or caring for kittens. The source is a reputable 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that advocates for kittens and cats.

Not done: Sorry, this link doesn't meet the recommendations of the policy about external links. This is just a small amount of information which could be added to the article rather than linking to the article. Thank, Celestra (talk) 00:32, 24 March 2012 (UTC)
- Could use it as a reference, though? --Mistress Selina Kyle (Α⇔Ω ¦ ⇒✉) 11:48, 24 March 2012 (UTC)

Mispelling of diarrhoea
Near the bottom of the page, diarrhoea is spelled wrong. 1:40, 31 July 2009 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.77.209.227 (talk • contribs) 01:40, 31 July 2009 81.77.209.227

- It's not wrong. That part was probably written by someone who learned to spell either here in the United States or in Canada. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spelling_differences#Simplification_of_ae_and_oe — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.214.210.216 (talk • contribs) 06:21, 8 February 2010

remove "or kitty" because kitty can refer to adult cat 216.93.216.142 (talk) 18:15, 18 June 2013 (UTC)
- Not done: It can refer to an adult cat, but it also is a synonym for "kitten". See the entries at both AHD and Merriam-Webster. Rivertorch (talk) 00:02, 19 June 2013 (UTC)

In the second paragraph under "Birth and Development," the article refers to the kittens dieing because they are too hot, a condition referred to as "Hyperthermia," the article mistakenly has use its opposite "Hypothermia" (which means being too cold). 71.80.134.230 (talk) 01:45, 7 March 2014 (UTC)
- Not done: Assuming you're referring to the passage
"kittens born in temperatures less than 27 °C (81 °F) can die from hypothermia if they are not kept warm by their mother"
, that's correct as written. They would in fact die of hypothermia if not kept warm. (They would die of hyperthermia if not kept cool.) --ElHef (Meep?) 02:10, 7 March 2014 (UTC)
Kitten
The article says that "A kitten or kitty is a juvenile domesticated cat",but any kind of cat, domesticated or wild are called kittens, they are all the same except slight behavior difference. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.123.130.53 (talk) 03:33, 7 July 2014 (UTC)
Semi-protection
I wonder if 5 years isn't a bit long for an article to be semi-protected. Isn't semi-protection supposed to be a temporary solution for excessive vandalism? - dcljr (talk) 23:49, 11 November 2014 (UTC)
- Normally, yes, but it's also normal to increase the duration period each time it's done in succession due to vandalism when protection ends. This article, like Cheese (which is protected indefinitely), is a stable target for vandals. Ian.thomson (talk) 23:56, 11 November 2014 (UTC)

Summershine35 (talk) 15:15, 9 March 2017 (UTC) several misspelled errors and capitialization errors
- Not done - as you have not pointed out exactly what you think needs changing - For spelling, the only thing that caught my eye is "behavioural" which is an acceptable alternative spelling of "behavioral" - Arjayay (talk) 15:35, 9 March 2017 (UTC)
- And I've run a spell check and found nothing. A quick copyedit revealed no capitalization errors. RivertorchFIREWATER 22:42, 9 March 2017 (UTC)

Kittens and how they are so adorable
Kittens are very adorable but a lot of people are allergic to them. Therefore those people can not have them. If you are one of them who can't be around them its ok because then you can see cute pictures of them. I have four cats of my own and they are sweet. I have them because they came from homes that did not love the truly and I take care of them very well and they are some crazy little cats too! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hope The Unicorn (talk • contribs) 23:14, 12 December 2017 (UTC)

Typo
Can’t edit a typo - there’s a line “designed specifically for kittens by offered“ which should be “be offered”. 2A00:23C5:664A:2F01:D97:38F0:3325:20E8 (talk) 23:16, 11 November 2018 (UTC)

Cite check template
This article had a cite check template which I've deleted. It wasn't particularly useful as there was nothing to say which portions of the article needed checking, or whether or not the checking might have happened in the four years since the template was placed.Adoring nanny (talk) 14:09, 23 March 2019 (UTC)
