On 19 April 2023, it was proposed that this article be moved from Knightmare to Knightmare (TV series). The result of the discussion was moved. |
Merge
editI suggested the merger because the merge-from article does not, in my opinion, constitute its own article for something that could be described in this article. Furthermore I do not believe that said article fits the Wikipedia style guidelines. --RK 00:50, 21 December 2005 (UTC)
- Completely agree - do it! Davidbod 00:15, 3 January 2006 (UTC)

Computer game
editAnyone got any information for the Spectrum/Amstrad/Commadore 64 Computer Game based on the TV series because I think that it would make a valid addition --Rorykillhorn 14:47, 23 January 2006 (UTC)
DVD release
editI've been struggling to add a reference to the potential DVD release of Knightmare. However, it seems that a number of over-zealous wikipedians would rather revert the edit rather than correct it. My proposed text was as follows: "In August 2009, a campaign was started by the official Knightmare fan site to get a release of the series on DVD after previous failed attempts and lack of interest from ITV Entertainment." 138.251.207.24 (talk) 08:07, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
- I think it should be fine, though I'd suggest referencing http://knightmare.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=2535 to avoid a revert. Brollachan (talk) 08:31, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
- Forums are not reliable sources, and fan discussion is not notable (unless covered in reliable sources). The JPStalk to me 10:49, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
- It's worth noting that the person who started this topic is/has taken over running the technical aspects of the entire website (as well as being a former contestant on the show). Brollachan (talk) 08:15, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
- So in breach of WP:COI, in addition to WP:RS. The JPStalk to me 09:39, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
- I probably need to clarify, when I said "this topic" I meant the one on the Knightmare forum rather than on the wiki (talk) page. Brollachan (talk) 10:09, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
- Ah, right. Still, coverage is required in third-party reliable sources. The JPStalk to me 10:42, 21 August 2009 (UTC)

Life Force/Death Animation
editI would like to point out a section called "Life Force". This is slightly incorrect. There are actually two different things. It is correct that there are three parts of the life force: i.e. green, amber and red. However, this is not a timer. It is just an indicator. There is not a time limit (exept in time limit areas). The producers and editors could decide to change it whenever they thought was necessary. There was not a "bell tolling"; that is the death animation.
The death animation was sometimes used to indicate the "death" of a dungeoneer. Lets say, if for example in the block and tackle room, a dungeoneer got hit by a block, the life force death animation would start. The life force death animation (a.k.a the death animation) showed a series of pictures from the life force clock.
This is a moot point. The life force was used to indicate a semblance of time passing, even though to the trained eye the life force is clearly not a timer. Pookiyama (talk) 17:02, 5 May 2013 (UTC)
External links
edit[Links placed by Leon2323 have been removed. No, don't effectively hotlink to files hosted on Knightmare.com. The clip links that were here regarding the life force can be found by visiting www.knightmare.com ] Brollachan 11:15, 4 February 2006 (UTC)
- I have created a user subpage with what I think is an improved version of the Life Force section. You can find it at User:Leon2323/Knightmare/Life Force. You can edit it if nessessery. -- -19:20, 14 September 2006 (UTC)

Fair Use
editSomeone needs to go through all these screenshots and mark them as fair-use screen captures to avoid them all being removed and deleted. --JiFish(Talk/Contrib) 14:18, 1 February 2006 (UTC)
The ones in the 'Treguard of Dunshelm' section look like they have been taken from knightmare.com, presumably without permission of the site owner, though I could be wrong. Brollachan 18:48, 2 February 2006 (UTC)
I've now added fair use rational to the images used in this article. Brollachan 12:27, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
French version
editacording to this website, the french version ended in 1991 not 1992.--Fantastic fred 21:36, 17 September 2007 (UTC)
Repeats
editI did some work on this today, trying to tidy up the justifications for the show's low ratings on the Sci Fi Channel. (It reads better now I think, but is still pretty POV - could definitely do with some citations.) However, I notice the section opens by saying Sci Fi aired all eight series, but later says the contract expired halfway through Series 4 and the show hadn't been seen on television since. Which of these, if either, is true? Did they broadcast them all and then repeat half, or what? 81.107.32.231 (talk) 19:05, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
- They broadcast them all and then would loop back to the start again, the contract happened to run out while they were broadcasting another showing of Series 4. BillyH 13:27, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
Inspiration?
editWas this an inspiration for Legends of the Hidden Temple? Carn29 (talk) 23:34, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
- Not sure, they're very different. Legends seems more based on the likes of Fort Boyard and The Crystal Maze. BillyH 22:22, 6 February 2011 (UTC)
YouTube episode
editSo does the returning one-off YouTube episode mean that that the infobox should say that the "Original Run" of Knightmare was "7 September 1987 – 4 August 2013"? There doesn't seem to be any other way to specific a "final episode" in the infobox without it labelling up the whole thing an "original run", which seems a bit misleading out of context. --McGeddon (talk) 16:27, 5 August 2013 (UTC)
