Expansion
editI put a request for expansion for this article on July 14th, 2005.--Azathar 15:35, 14 July 2005 (UTC)
- I have made preliminary expansion, and have removed the request flag, confident that other KoDT fans will continue the work of filling out the article -- and the other which will spring from it. I merely ask that, when someone VfDs the page as fan-cruft, the administrators will note that expansion was positively requested, so someone somewhere other than me (and Garth and Wayne) feels that this page is "worthy". --Simon Cursitor 13:02, 18 July 2005 (UTC)
Great strip
editWhat a great strip. I was just reading my old Bundles of Trouble last night (after playing DnD for nine hours straight on Friday night to Saturday morning), and it never gets old. Who'd ever believe that such a crappy, horribly drawn comic would get so popular? Hoody-hoo. jglc | t | c 15:42, 18 July 2005 (UTC)
- Agreed. If one wanted to analyze its success, I'd say it's because the writing is nearly perfect for the subject matter. But why analyze? just enjoy! rewinn 19:49, 11 September 2006 (UTC)
Pictures
editWould it be possible for someone to insert pictures of the characters into the article, or would that be a copyright violation? Mo-Al 22:39, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
Gazebo Story
editI think this is a bad example for the character description of BA, as it is a story that was copied without giving credit to original author (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eric_and_the_Gazebo & http://www.theschoolforheroes.com/questlog/692/the-tale-of-eric-and-the-dread-gazebo/ — Preceding unsigned comment added by Paul tanstaafl (talk • contribs) 02:09, 3 January 2013 (UTC)
Before this goes further, could someone impartial check the collected KoDT, as I am almost certain that the origin of the story is mentioned not only when the strip was first published, but repeatedly thereafter when reference to it (the strip, as opposed to the fictional incident within KoDT) came up. The allegation of plagiarism is a serious one, and Wiki ought to be vigilant over such things. -- Simon Cursitor (talk) 13:26, 3 January 2013 (UTC)
Copyvio?
editSome of this article seems to have been listed from the bios in the comics. Mo-Al 05:58, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
- They definitely ripped off some of the bios.--Bedford 06:03, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
- I feel a little hesitant to place the copyvio template, but it probably should be done. Mo-Al 01:30, 13 July 2006 (UTC)
- Perhaps someone ought to ask Jolly directly if the bio's are free to use? He does have his e-mail online and in the comic after all. lucashoal 18:46, August 31, 2006 (EST)
- I've paraphrased most of them now, but someone should go through and make sure. Mo-Al 23:12, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
Page expansion
editIf I might suggest, this page is very character heavy. Perhaps the characters could be moved to their own page (such as Characters from Knights of the Dinner Table), freeing up room for a brief plot summary, and some more "real world" information about the impact of the strip (critical reception etc.) Dr Aaron 13:04, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
- I would agree with this suggestion. --Lendorien 16:47, 3 July 2007 (UTC)
Erik Bouchard
editThe article claims Erik is not a hackmaster player, and (as such) does not have qualms performing a dice-rub on gary. Now, if I remember correctly (and I have not consulted my collection here), Erik is mentioned in a Hard 8-strip as a canadian power gamer that was hired in as a player during a sanctioned tournament, and subsequently banned. I also seem to recall that both Bob and Brian had few scrouples in performing a dice-rub themselves. Does anyone feel sure enough about the details to correct this? Or bother to read trough all the issues again? If I stumble upon it, I'll try to correct any wrong info. erik. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.203.48.1 (talk) 23:42, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
You are correct, he was brought in, during the big inter-campaign grudge match as a ringer, I believe for 'Troy's Boys'207.250.155.126 (talk) 16:48, 9 December 2009 (UTC)
Heidi Jackson
editI submit that it's more likely that the Heidi Jackson situation is more of a reference to Lorraine Williams and her aggressive changes to TSR's line in the late 80s-early 90s. Kouban (talk) 01:11, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
Agreed. This should really be mentioned in the wiki. I'm sure the recent 4th Edition changes to D&D are part of the jokes, but Heidi's character just screams "Lorraine Williams". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.228.148.48 (talk) 03:03, 14 August 2009 (UTC)
HackNoia
edit- HackNoia, a modern-day espionage role-playing game like TSR's Top Secret.
Judging by the name, I guess it is a parody of Paranoia? Though that's a futuristic sci-fi game rather than "modern-day espionage". Hairy Dude (talk) 16:50, 3 May 2010 (UTC)
Live reading
editI put in the live reading part. I attended one of them at the 2009 origins game fair. It was a LOT of fun, and I thought it should be mentioned. Although I don't know if it is held at other Cons. Herogamer (talk) 17:07, 1 June 2010 (UTC)
