Fair use rationale for Image:Knuckles profile.jpg

edit

Image:Knuckles profile.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Merging Knuckles the Echidna (comic character) with Knuckles the Echidna

edit

I suggest we merge these two articles. In fact is the same character in different appearances. Merging will help in deleting unneeded fancract details and establish notability for the character. -- Magioladitis (talk) 12:30, 12 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

I'd say that's a good call, considering that it's the same character. RC-0722 361.0/1 20:23, 25 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
You can't merge them. That'll make the article too big.Fairfieldfencer FFF 08:38, 26 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
Certainly a longer article than God, at any rate. --Shadow Hog (talk) 12:42, 26 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Cleanup the article by reducing the amount of plot summary and then merge without a mercy. They're the same friggin character, just different backstories. Jonny2x4 (talk) 15:25, 26 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Bad idea. The aricle should stay as it is.Fairfieldfencer FFF 15:42, 26 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Mind having a proper discussion first!!!Fairfieldfencer FFF 16:23, 26 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
What is there is too discuss? Its an unsourced "fictional biography" of a less-notable alternate depiction of another fictional character written entirely from the fictional universe's perspective, with no real world content or references of its creation and reception. Jonny2x4 (talk) 16:41, 26 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Well if it's unsourced find sources. Don't just go around merging articles when they're salvageable.Fairfieldfencer FFF 16:44, 26 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Only its not salvageable. Its 99% crap! It has no real world info. Nothing but plot summaries from the comics. The idea is to discuss different depictions of fictional characters in sub-sections and then split them to another article if becomes too long. I don't expect you to understand, considering you're only 13-years-old.Jonny2x4 (talk) 16:53, 26 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Keep separate per Wikipedia:Five pillars (notability to a real-world audience, consistent with a “specialized encyclopedia” concerning verifiable fictional topics with importance in the real world) and What Wikipedia is. Why did you merge the articles?

edit

It's stupid. They need to be separate —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.148.16.209 (talk) 02:46, 24 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
