cite?
editJust a matter of clarification, can anyone cite a reference that backs up that Kobol is an anagram of Kolob? As in a quote from Ronald D. Moore or anyone of the Battlestar Galactica production teams, (1976 or Reimagined, either will do).

Redirect?
editSo I noticed this redirects from Kobal. I assume this is a common misspelling of this planet's name. However, it is also the name of a demon within Christian belief and mythology. Theological scholars and people interested in the occult might be looking for a page on that particular demon. You may wish to change this redirect. At one point it seems there may have been a page dedicated to Kobal as in a page listing names of demons his name appears as a valid page link. 69.204.200.18 (talk) 04:56, 3 April 2009 (UTC)
- If we have sources for a demon called Kobal we can write an article Kobal (demon) and put a link at the top of this article, or make the redirect a dab page showing both. ϢereSpielChequers 10:23, 3 April 2009 (UTC)
COBOL
editI always thought "Lords of Kobol" to denote an ancient, extinct race was an in-joke with ancient COBOL programmers... :) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 201.47.188.2 (talk) 20:13, 7 December 2009 (UTC)
spoiler alert
editThere is a line in the article that talks about happenings in the last episode of the reimagined series. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.150.59.177 (talk) 16:18, 30 September 2010 (UTC)
Too Many Cite Requests
editAlmost every paragraph in this article has a cite request, most of which appear to be from the same...yeah, I'll call them a vandal. Either way, it's a clear example of what happens when cite requests become either a form of vandalization, a computer-era variation on the old psychological torture we used to bestow on our parents - asking "why?" about everything we're told or we see, just to drive them mad enough to pull out their hair and/or our own scalps! - or a simple case of people not wanting to do their own homework to *provide* those cites just to help things out around here.
So, can we purge most of these and condense them just to the Big Annoying Warning Box Of Doubt at the top of the article? Barring that, can someone point me to a Firefox plugin that strips all Wiki articles of [citation requested]?

Is the name a reference to the Mormons' "Kolob"?
editHad never heard of the Mormon's Kolob, the planet they think God is on or near, but the name and sense is similar... Is it just a coincidence, or might this reference have been in the BG creators' minds? Garth M (talk) 23:58, 21 March 2017 (UTC)
