Office lady back dropping purse snatcher?

edit

There's a video clip (as seen here on YouTube) circulating the Internet, that apparently shows an elevator purse snatching foiled when the victim grabs the guy around the waist from behind, picks him up, and drops him on his back. The time stamp on the video reads 講談社 (Kodansha). Anyone familiar with Japanese culture and current events know whether this is an actual event, or some sort of publicity release, or a hoax? It appears that this viral video was excerpted from a Kodansha commercial, with some posters embellishing it into a hoax. Here is where a copy of the original commercial used to be, hosted on Kodansha's own website, but it's gone now. I think this would be interesting information to add to the article, if a reliable source for the original commercial could be found. Matt Fitzpatrick (talk) 03:40, 3 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
Found it! I should've searched in Japanese from the beginning. Original Kodansha commercial on YouTube. Now to find a reliable source showing that it was embellished into a hoax. From comments on the web, it seems this Russian news site reported the events in the video, plus some embellished details, as real. That news site is gone -- guess I shouldn't be surprised. I'll keep looking. Matt Fitzpatrick (talk) 04:16, 3 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hi Ryulong : Can you please explain why you thought my edit "entirely unneccesary"? - I reckoned it might help to build the web by providing a link for Nikkan Gendai and make the layout easier for editing by adding a couple of carriage-returns. - HoundsOfSpring (talk) 06:23, 14 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
