Changes
editI don't imagine the following were what you had a problem with, but I'll just check before I add them back. Adding place of birth to the infobox and lead, fixing where the citations are (ie removing the space between text and citation tag), and fixing wikilinks - in an article this size there is no reason to wikilink a term more that twice (once in infobox and once the first time it appears in text).
Regarding the see also section - links are only included there if they relate the to content of the article itself but are not linked already within the article.
The changes I made to section headers where just aesthetic and closer to other BLPs I've seen.
I removed the election results because this is an article about Koh Poh Koon not the constituency or the election. Regards, Callanecc (talk • contribs • logs) 10:43, 27 January 2013 (UTC)
- I have done some editing to merge the education part with his early life, and also removed some links from the "See also" section that already existed in the article. The record part was left there since I am talking about his political career, but it would not look nice if I merge it with the actual career part. Looking forward to your views...Arctic Kangaroo (talk) 10:59, 27 January 2013 (UTC)
- Sorry I'm a bit too tired to be able to concentrate on it. I'll have a look in the morning. Regards, Callanecc (talk • contribs • logs) 11:13, 27 January 2013 (UTC)
- No problem, but as my studies are quite busy, I may not reply too quickly. So please add this page to your watchlist. Cheers! Arctic Kangaroo (talk) 11:22, 27 January 2013 (UTC)
- I just don't see that there's a need for the election results to be in the article, and certainly no more than is already in the political career section, because the article isn't about the election it's about Koh. I've made a few other changes about the wikilinks, just to make them more relevant to the context. I still don't think that either of the two see also links need to be there because if the reader is interested in Singapore elections they would have looked that up or go to the by-election link then to Singapore elections. - OK, so I will delete the results section, and write about the loss briefly in the career section. As for the see also, what you say is also logical, so I will remove it. But just asking, why does this article and this article about another Singapore politicians contain results? Arctic Kangaroo 04:26, 2 February 2013 (UTC)
- Reorganized. Please take a look. Cheers, Arctic Kangaroo 04:39, 2 February 2013 (UTC)
Reference needed for ethnicity
editHey Bonkers, I believe you should know that Dr Koh is Chinese by ethnicity. However, I can't blame you for removing that info since we need to cite a reference for that. I did not add a refrence as I could not find any. Anyway, I don't think it would be easy to find some source which states ethnicity. So, do you have any solution for this? Cheers, Arctic Kangaroo 11:05, 21 March 2013 (UTC)
- Not to be pedantic and all rule-following, but you can't really be certain he's Chinese, can you? For all you know, he just might be Indian! ;O Happy ref-searching. ☯ Bonkers The Clown \(^_^)/ Nonsensical Babble ☯ 11:11, 21 March 2013 (UTC)
