View of Jack London? Relevance?
editThere's a section mentioning the very racist opinion of an American novelist that visited Imperial Korea... I'm really not sure what this adds to the article, why is his opinion important enough to warrant a mention? It doesn't describe any particularly notable feelings of America or the Western world at large towards Korea in any detailed way. One could replace the nouns with any country and it would fit the racism of the time. Articles on other countries of the era don't break for the opinion of a tourist.
"London said that if Western foreigner visit Korea, there would be two impulses. First is killing the Koreans and second is committing suicide. London said that Koreans are weak, lazy, strong to the weak, and unnecessary curiosities.[18]"
Seriously? This isn't worth being in this Wikipedia article. 2001:1970:54DD:5100:4D76:3DAA:3EE2:4336 (talk) 20:16, 9 February 2022 (UTC)

Foreign Affairs section
editWhat about adding some more details in this section? E.g. listing the different countries that they signed treaties with and showing how increasingly they got less unequal? Also the establishment of embassies and sending diplomatic envoys is not mentioned here. The part about Russia is apt but leaves out the Chinese, American, British, and Japanese relations with Korea. 182.221.247.146 (talk) 15:14, 25 March 2024 (UTC)
