Pronunciation

I know the new Korean romanization is based on American pronunciations but the old one uses the name Mun. My question: Is it pronunced as Mun (Moon: English-style) or Mon (Like the Japanese.).--82.134.154.25 (talk) 11:18, 5 December 2009 (UTC)

It's pronounced like "Mun". 🌒

Wikitables.

If someone could please add Choson'gul, and improve the romanisation in these tables, that would really be helpful. 😊 58.187.168.230 (talk) 09:53, 5 June 2017 (UTC)

My vision 👓 for the Wikitable at the Sangpyeong Tongbo's mint marks. 📀

Originally the Stabalisation Office or the Sangpyeongchong ([HANGUL], 常平廳) was the first agency to mint Sangpyeong Tongbo coins in 1633, and eventually various other government agencies (including military offices) began to produce these coins which contained various mintmarks to establish their origin.

Mint mark Hangul (mintmark ONLY) Name of the agency in Chinese/Hanja Name in Korean (Hangul, Romanisation) Name in English

Year introduced

[Hangul] 户曹 [Hangul name here] Hojo Treasury Department 1678

I can't read and/or write Choson'gul, so I have to request someone else to do it.

Hanja to Chosŏn'gul converter.

I found a Hanja -> Chosŏn'gul converter if anyone wishes to help transliterate some items on this page. 58.187.168.230 (talk) 07:25, 7 June 2017 (UTC)

Images. 📸💴

This article would be more illustrative with images from before 1633 (pre-Sang P'yŏng T'ong Bo), maybe someone could upload some Chosŏn T'ong Bo coins to help illustrate this. 58.187.168.230 (talk) 15:21, 8 June 2017 (UTC)

Mun circulated alongside Chinese coins.

This article fails to mention that native Korean coins circulated alongside Chinese coins in Korea. all it says is that the currency is based on Chinese coins, there should be a mention of this. --1.55.196.75 (talk) 06:39, 15 June 2017 (UTC)

WikiProject Korea

I just added "WikiProject Korea" to this page, I'm not sure if I'm allowed to do things like that as I'm not a member, but in case I'm allowed to then ignore this message. --1.55.196.75 (talk) 07:18, 15 June 2017 (UTC)

Revised Romanisation.

I see that the article uses "Sangpyeong Tongbo" a lot, but most sources I could find use "Sang P'yŏng T'ong Bo" is South Korea's spelling used retroactively or something? Often I see South Korean spellings used more often on Wikipedia than outside, even though RR has been criticised for being both "too American to be phonetic" and "not phonetic at all" while MR is still preferred by most numismatic books, "Sang P'yŏng T'ong Bo" remains the de facto standard. --1.55.196.75 (talk) 07:23, 15 June 2017 (UTC)

Fixed a display error. --1.55.196.75 (talk) 07:24, 15 June 2017 (UTC)
The same goes for "Goryeo" and "Joseon" by the way. --1.55.196.75 (talk) 07:26, 15 June 2017 (UTC)

Korean coin tree 🎄.

An "Edasen" () made from Tenpō Tsūhō coins.

Is there a free image of a Korean mun version of this image we can insert into this article? --1.55.183.244 (talk) 07:39, 13 July 2017 (UTC)

I have an image from a website but I'm not sure if I may upload it. 🤔 --1.55.183.244 (talk) 07:40, 13 July 2017 (UTC)

Reassessment

Should this article be reassessed in light of how it has changed since the last assessment? --Donald Trung (talk) 09:49, 13 July 2017 (UTC)

How would I request it, and where? --Donald Trung (talk) 09:56, 13 July 2017 (UTC)

Obverse and reverse images

@NewHikaru07:, I am not sure if you saw this message:

"Hello, I am trying to figure out the template but can't seem to make sense of the spacing without it losing its black colour, but at "Korean mun#Machine-struck coinage" I want there to be space for both an "Obverse image" and a "Reverse image", as you often insert these lists into articles, could you help here? --Donald Trung (talk) 11:37, 1 October 2019 (UTC)"

But I made several attempts again and for whatever reason it always makes the second (2nd) row gray as opposed to black, how to fix this? --Donald Trung (talk) 10:05, 5 October 2019 (UTC)
