Etymology section is not
editThat section begins with The etymology of kotodama is uncertain, but the previous section tells us exactly the etymology of the word, so maybe somebody doesn't know what etymology means. It then goes on to explain about some allegedly related words in Japanese, but the entire section seems useless and unneeded to me. Still, I don't feel like just deleting it, because somebody will probably get pissed. Perhaps someone can come and edit it to make it more sensible, and retitle the section. Low importance?
editI have no clue why this article is tagged as "low importance". Kotodama is one of key concept of Shinto and influenced Japanese culture throughout. It has affected people's daily life as well as literature. Some conventions were based on this notion. I would like to know the rationale why this article is marked as "low importance". --Aphaia 04:12, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
Anime is Japan
editI would like to remove the popular reference section, but it seems like Wikipedians are congenitally incapable of writing anything about Japan without adding a list of references to anime... Konamaiki (talk) 22:01, 10 November 2009 (UTC)
- It is pretty sad that half the article is dedicated to such unimportant trivia like that. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 205.243.126.7 (talk) 20:20, 22 September 2013 (UTC)
- Popculture cruft is horrrific. I'm going to take the bold approach and remove it. Yunshui 雲水 10:58, 14 September 2015 (UTC)
