The appointment of a new Commissioner made the national news The Hindu with a fairly detailed article on issues facing the force. A recent reorganisation of policing in the state promoted the Kozhikode Commissioner to Inspector General [1]. This is the third most senior rank in the state police (after Director General and Additional Director General) according to our article on the Kerala Police.
