Talk:Krasnoarmeysk, Saratov Oblast

The original name of the city, Balzer, is not taken from the last name of an original colonist "Baltser". The colony name was derived from Balthazer "Balzer" Barthulÿ, a founding settler of the colony arriving on August 28, 1765. He also served as the first "mayor" to the colony.

I have a source that says the name was Goly Karanyslz, not Karamysh. Which is right?--Rayc 04:37, 24 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Well, I've changed it. Let's see if it gets challenged. If so then you can compare sources with the guy that started the article. --Cadby (talk) 19:32, 24 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
Well, I see it has already been changed back, which is what I was going to do myself anyway. Just curious, however—where did the "Karanyslz" spelling come from? Rayc?—Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) • (yo?); 15:02, 26 December 2006 (UTC
