Notable characters

edit

I have proposed a guideline for character notablity within Warhammer 40,000 articles which I believe may effect the listings on this page. Please see the proposal at Wikipedia:WikiProject Warhammer 40,000/Notability and comment. Cheers --Pak21 10:39, 3 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Kroot Sharper Selective Evolution

edit

Where the heck are your sources for THAT information? I've memorized the pages of the Tau Codex and have seen several outside articles and interesting stories, but I am as yet to hear any of that. It is of course, true, that Kroot do become what they eat so-to-speak, but aren't the Kroot a type of mercenary race anyway? They don't take on campaigns against certain races that I would know of. "To collect as wide a range of characteristics as possible, they secretly despatch entire armies of mercenaries to fight alongside other races in order to expose themselves to creatures and environments not found in Tau space." [1]. See also the stuff about Signature Adaptations in the Kroot rules; the entry could probably do with a few tweaks, but I think the general gist of it is about right. • Mmhmm. Good-good. However, I didn't see anything about the Kroot Sharper specificaly planning on selecting certain species. I agree they go against other races outside where the Tau really want them, but I was pointing out the article says: " For instance, a Shaper who wants his Kroot to gain muscle mass will take on campaigns against Orks to acquire the right DNA, while extensive feeding on flying predators will allow the Kroot to grow wings. "
  • That just didn't make sense. It sounds like the Kroot Sharper is a leader over the Kroot capable of declaring war on the Orks so his army could gain more muscle. It might only need some rewording is all. Colonel Marksman 22:30, 19 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Incabable of Powered Flight?

edit

There have been minor accounts of Kroot using their own warships against the Imperium alongside Tau. These crude, massive hulks, however, are very short-ranged and monstrous in size. Colonel Marksman 19:42, 7 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

KDE kroot

edit

There also exists an application for the K Desktop Environment called `kroot`. The script comment tells "Wrapper for X11 programs which use root window; useful for KDE 3 desktops". I don't think it's worth mentioning in the article, though. 84.236.49.87 22:33, 13 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Kroot name origin

edit

Any possibility that the name Kroot is derived from dialectal English/Scottish Croot? If the Warhammer Dev team has never said anything on the topic, perhaps we could email them and ask.
