Maps
editThe maps used in this article are appreciated, but neither of them makes it clear to the reader unacquainted with the region exactly where Kuban is located. The top map (with all Russian labels) does not include any one area that is clearly "Kuban"; the largest area enclosed by boundaries actually extends off the map, so . . . ? The second map is labeled "Southern Russia", and is broken up into about 12 subregions, some of which are called oblasts, some of which are colored differently. We cannot look at this and tell if "Kuban" is one of these 12, because none of them say "Kuban". Perhaps Kuban is the collection of six yellow-colored regions? Who knows? I really don't want to sound like I'm complaining, I'm just pointing out to the kind person who provided these that they don't help a guy living in the American Southwest. - Yes I see what you mean there. I added a map which shows the area of Kuban Oblast (from the Russian Empire days), as it is also a historical term, so hopefully it gives a better idea. For the more modern definition, of course this does not include all of present-day Krasnodar Krai so a modern map would be ideal. Mellk (talk) 22:05, 28 June 2022 (UTC)
