KG's owners
editCould someone tell me how Marvel owns Kulan Gath but Dynamite is using him? Thanos6 16:56, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
- It's been confirmed that Marvel is not the owner of Kulan Gath, based on this link from the writers of the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe. He comes under the property of licensed characters, and thus can't be used in future Marvel stories without permission or with special arrangement.
- It's still unclear if Kulan Gath is owned by Conan Properties or Red Sonja LLC. I suspect it's owned by the former and under license for use by the latter.
A Conan Character ?!?
editHow come this character is entered in the category of "Conan the Barbarian characters" when it's a comic character that has exactly no place in the canon, having been made up by Roy Thomas, and largely expanded upon by any number of writers, but who never appeared in a Conan story, and was created only like 30 years after Howard died? --Svartalf (talk) 05:29, 6 February 2010 (UTC)
Kulan Gath's owners
editThere doesn't seem to be anything on the thread above (that link is dead), so I thought I'd start a new one here on the topic. The article states Kulan Gath isn't owned by Marvel, but there's no source. Gath's been used an awful lot in Marvel if he's not actually owned by them. Simply appearing first in Conan (or Rom, Micronauts, etc) doesn't mean he's not still owned by Marvel. Do we have a source clearly showing he's owned by another company? - I've removed the assertion he's not a Marvel character. Rojomoke (talk) 21:02, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
The link above might be dead, but the Internet Archive (aka Wayback Machine) still has the page: http://web.archive.org/web/20070927192647/http://www.comixfan.com/xfan/forums/showthread.php?t=42317&page=2 Kulan Gath is not owned by Marvel, he's part of the Red Sonja rights package. 86.145.141.34 (talk) 00:00, 15 October 2011 (UTC)
