Notability
editI have previously advised User:Ranganastc that creating this article by just listing his professional credentials does not make him notable and that it is highly likely that this article will be deleted. I advised that he will need to ensure that it complies with the basic principles of notability, which can be found at WP:BASIC or WP:ANYBIO. Dan arndt (talk) 14:38, 21 January 2015 (UTC)
- I further advised User:Ranganastc that just because Sirisena is the Chairman of Sri Lanka Telecom it does not automatically make him a notable individual. See the requirements of notability above.Dan arndt (talk) 23:43, 21 January 2015 (UTC)
- I have further advised User:Ranganastc that it is important to note that Wikipedia is not LinkedIn, essentially being a competent professional in a field is not grounds for having a wikipedia article. At this stage I see nothing that makes Kumarasinghe Sirisena notable. Dan arndt (talk) 07:30, 22 January 2015 (UTC)
SLT UNION (talk) 03:15, 24 January 2015 (UTC)why are u thinking he is not notable person?he is a well qualified guy.dont mislead others. And u trying to delete his wiki page.SLT UNION (talk) 03:15, 24 January 2015 (UTC)
Is Kumarasinghe Sirisena just notable for just being the brother of the president? If so the article is probably not notable (see WP:NOTINHERITED). His other achievements don't appear to justify his notability - as they are the same as any other Sri Lankan businessman.. Dan arndt (talk) 23:58, 6 March 2015 (UTC)
- Refs #4 and #5 appear to at least WP:GNG in that the subject was more than a trivial mention and his appointment did receive some significant media coverage. Nakon 03:45, 7 March 2015 (UTC)
Common Name
editKumarasinghe Sirisena is the more common name than P. G. Kumarasinghe. Furthermore his last name is Sirisena not Kumarasinghe, and he is known as the brother of the president who is Maithripala Sirisena.--Blackknight12 (talk) 03:29, 28 February 2015 (UTC)
