The result of the move request was: move the page to Kustanai horse, per the discussion below; for the time being, the redirect from Kustanair also remains in place, although it is possible that the redirect should be pointed at the city as well. Dekimasuよ! 07:21, 4 December 2014 (UTC)
Kustanair → Kustanai – FAO here calls this breed the "Kustanai" Other sources do use "Kustanair" here, but it seems appropriate to use the spelling supported by the government of the breed in its indigenous homeland. --Relisted. - Support as nom. Montanabw(talk) 02:06, 16 November 2014 (UTC)
- Support per nom's reasoning above, seems reasonable. In ictu oculi (talk) 14:58, 16 November 2014 (UTC)
- Relisting comment. I was on the verge of putting this through, but with a note to the effect that government support for a particular spelling is not a generally accepted rationale for changes to article titles. However, the proposed target Kustanai redirects to a city (Kostanay) in the region the breed comes from, and not to this article. Since these appear to be variant spellings, this request seems to require further discussion. Dekimasuよ! 20:38, 23 November 2014 (UTC)
- My thinking is that the Maurizio Bongianni source (that uses Kustanair) is a bit dated and that the FAO is going to be a more current reflection of language and usage. I suppose "Kustanai horse" would also be OK. I don't have particularly strong feelings on this one way or the other. Montanabw(talk) 05:09, 24 November 2014 (UTC)
- Oppose clearly the city is the primary topic according to google [1]; the proposed title is a redirect to the city in another spelling, but the proposed spelling according to google means the city. -- 67.70.35.44 (talk) 08:28, 24 November 2014 (UTC)
