Requested move 28 August 2018
edit- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the move request was: Moved all per WP:CONSISTENCY. The old titles will continue to point to mens' teams for the time being. See also the ongoing rfc at WT:BBALL overwhelmingly supporting the "men's" attribute in all basketball national team articles. No such user (talk) 12:11, 18 September 2018 (UTC)
- Kuwait national ice hockey team → Kuwait men's national ice hockey team
- Israel national ice hockey team → Israel men's national ice hockey team
- Lithuania national ice hockey team → Lithuania men's national ice hockey team
- Serbia national ice hockey team → Serbia men's national ice hockey team
– Consistent name with other similar national ice hockey team articles. AaronWikia (talk) 17:50, 28 August 2018 (UTC) --Relisting. Dreamy Jazz 🎷 talk to me | my contributions 22:28, 4 September 2018 (UTC)
- Comment I am indifferent on this, although the uniformity makes sense. Upon reviewing Template:Men's national ice hockey teams I notice several others without men's in the title which you have excluded from here. - Galatz גאליץשיחה Talk 18:11, 28 August 2018 (UTC)
- @Galatz: France national football team – France women's national football team; Serbia national basketball team (goes to the men's team) – Serbia women's national basketball team; United States national ice hockey team (disambiguation page) – United States women's national ice hockey team; and pretty much of the whole Category:National ice hockey teams. – AaronWikia (talk) 19:26, 28 August 2018 (UTC)
- Are their national women's teams in these countries? If not then there is no need for disambiguation. -DJSasso (talk) 13:12, 29 August 2018 (UTC)
- I fully support this. I get DJSasso's point about only one team, but at the same time, it makes it easier to navigate from article to article with a uniform title template. If you are on Canada men's national ice hockey team, and want to get to Kuwait's, its not difficult to guess what the article would be, if they are uniform. Alternatively, if there is only one team, you could have the "men's national team" page serve as a redirect to the "national team" page. –uncleben85 (talk) 04:08, 11 September 2018 (UTC)
- Yep a redirect pretty much solves that issue. -DJSasso (talk) 17:47, 12 September 2018 (UTC)
- The above discussion is preserved as an archive of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page or in a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
