What was this reservoir renamed? I am looking at the list of Russian reservoirs, which is an official document issued by the Russian government just a few days ago (on 11/16/6), and this reservoir is still listed as "Kuybyshevskoye", not as "Samarskoye". I was unable to find any official documents confirming that the reservoir was ever renamed. Comments would be appreciated.—Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) • (yo?); 15:57, 21 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
- I think it is still "Kuybyshevskoye vodohranilishe".Olegivvit 17:02, 21 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
- Thanks. Do you know why it's called "Samarskoye" in some sources then? Is it just because of the assumption that the reservoir was renamed because the city was?—Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) • (yo?); 18:57, 21 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
- Probably so. By the way, I saw many times modern maps (in English) with Simbirsk instead of Ulyanovsk. Olegivvit 15:10, 22 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
- That's one publisher whose maps one would should avoid buying :) Anyway, I moved the article to its proper name.—Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) • (yo?); 18:35, 28 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
