Kvant mass?

edit

I've added a dubious tag to the mass of Kvant as given in the text; I see it comes from Encyclopedia Astronautica (in fact, the text appears to be copied from there), but it contradicts NASA's Mir Hardware Heritage document. So I don't really know what to believe, but NASA seems like the more reliable source. Mlm42 (talk) 21:35, 15 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

The Encyclopedia Astronautica Kvant-1 describes a Russian concept for a two-stage orbital "light" launch vehicle with a weight of 83 metric tons to move an LEO payload of 1,800 kg (3,900 lb) to a 200 km orbit, as part of the Buran programme. Encyclopedia Astronautica's Kvant describes a "Kvant (booster)" concept which is described in more detail by Russian Wikipedia.
This English Kvant-1 Wikipedia article and the NASA document describe a Functional Service Module (FSM) of MIR. The confusion comes up because the same or similar name was used for completely different objects. SchmiAlf (talk) 09:27, 29 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
