editChrisO, why gulf and not bay?
Also note that whichever we pick in the end, the choice needs to be followed by an update of the numerous redirects, cf. Special:Whatlinkshere/Kvarner Gulf. --Joy [shallot] 14:39, 22 May 2005 (UTC)
- To be honest, I've never heard of it called "bay" before in English. Every English-language map I've seen has called it the "Kvarner Gulf" or "Gulf of Kvarner". I've also checked this with a number of encyclopedias and they all call it a gulf. I assume this is because the English version of the name is probably taken from the Italian Golfo del Quarnero. The "bay" name I guess is a literal translation of the Croatian word zaljev. -- ChrisO 22:01, 22 May 2005 (UTC)
- Okay, I'll go along. I've updated the redirects. --Joy [shallot] 12:24, 25 May 2005 (UTC)
The map is unfortunately inaccurate because it doesn't actually include much of the Kvarner gulf, it's cut off too much at the left. --Joy [shallot] 21:57, 22 August 2005 (UTC)
- It's also way out of date, as it displays Rijeka much smaller than it is and it fails to display many highways (Rupa-Rijeka, Zagreb-Šestanovac, Istrian Y, Rijeka urban bypass, etc.) Admiral Norton (talk) 19:57, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
