Birthplace
editThe IMDB entry on KG (Which is linked at the bottom of the wikipedia entry) says he was born in Walnut Creek, not Castro Valley.. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:9:7E80:694:4472:EB6C:E068:4966 (talk) 04:57, 18 July 2014 (UTC)
- Does anyone know which is correct - Walnut Creek or Castro Valley? The Walnut Creek page is unsourced, but lists him as growing up in Walnut Creek and attending Las Lomas High there. --Utilizer (talk) 01:12, 20 May 2016 (UTC)
Family Guy
editOn the Kyle Gass page it states that he has appeared in several episodes of Family Guy. Can anyone tell me which ones because i cant find anything about it anywhere. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.68.105.236 (talk) 22:42, 21 February 2008 (UTC) I never did say that.
Mike Kettel
editAll this stuff about Mike Kettel has no proof to me. I think it should be removed. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Tenacious D Fans (talk • contribs) 08:40, 24 February 2007 (UTC).
Contradiction
editIn the first segment, Early Life, it says he first picked up a guitar when he was fourteen, yet in the second paragraph it says Gass claimed to have been the youngest graduate of the Juilliard School of Music with a degree in classical guitar studies at the age of thirteen, a bit contradictory i think? - kevinbocking 19:41, 8 July 2007 (UTC)
The opening of the article says he was born in 1960, the citation says 1968 not 1964. Which one is it? How old is this man? 66.188.130.123 05:33, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
Let's try to avoid taking Gass too seriously. His act is just that, an act. His function is lightweight entertainment, primarily comedic rather than musical. His "serious" musical credentials are a put-on; he claims to be the youngest person to graduate from a program that didn't even exit at the time! (I'm referring to his Juilliard claim.)Rguitphil (talk • contribs) 9:48, 26 October 2007 (UTC)

Music Career
editThere's not a single word about KG's actual music career in that paragraph, only stuff that relates to him being a musician. This is an article about a musician and it's a joke that there's not a proper sentence about him being one. Hexxagonn (talk) 04:15, 4 October 2016 (UTC)
German descent
editKyle is the son of Carol and John Gass. Kyle’s paternal grandfather was George Andrew Gass (the son of Franz Gass and Theresia Margaretha Liebler). George was born in Iowa, to German parents. Franz was the son of George Gass. Theresia was the daughter of John Philipp Liebler and Julia Anna Pfropfer. Kyle’s paternal grandmother was Mary Veronica Konrad (the daughter of Friedrich Johann Konrad and Veronica Griesbaum). Mary was born in Iowa. Friedrich was German, and was born in Lemberg, Pirmasens (Land), Rheinland-Pfalz, the son of Johann Friedrich Konrad and Anna Maria Weiss. Kyle’s great-grandmother Veronica was born in Iowa, to German parents, Andreas Griesbaum, from Steig, Baden, and Amalia Ohnemus, from Schweighausen, Baden.[1] — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2003:F3:2704:BBAD:68DA:9B2F:206E:9205 (talk) 03:39, 3 March 2022 (UTC)
Meeting Jack Black
editThis article has an un-cited claim that Gass and Black met in 1984. The Tenacious D page has a cited claim that they met in Scotland in 1989. Unless someone can confirm what's here, it should be corrected. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Superwesman (talk • contribs) 17:56, 8 January 2010 (UTC)

Deportment Calls After Don't Miss Controversy?
editDo the calls for Gass' deportment from Australia about his pro-assassination 'joke' merit inclusion since the 'joke' has its own stand alone section? Or does Black's cancellation of the tour suffice unless said government actually does move to deport? 人族 (talk) 13:49, 16 July 2024 (UTC)
- Not really? Maybe if Gass himself reacts to the calls for deportation but it affects Tenacious D as a whole and as far as I know, only one unnamed Australian politician has called for the band to be deported. Yvan Part (talk) 13:54, 16 July 2024 (UTC)
- Not unnamed - Senator Ralph Babet. He's unknown and his party is an irrelevant minority. But I take your point. 人族 (talk) 05:29, 17 July 2024 (UTC)
Clunky wording?
editThis should be better phrased:
"Gass' agent for television and acting roles, Michael Greene, would also sever ties with Gass[.]"
Maybe drop the "would" and use "severed." 216.168.91.72 (talk) 22:55, 16 July 2024 (UTC)
