I will review this. TompaDompa (talk) 06:51, 17 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

This is a WP:QUICKFAIL.

  • First off, there's a month-old {{citation needed}} tag in the WP:LEAD, which is not exactly a good sign (either because it needs to be there and hasn't been addressed or because it doesn't per WP:LEADCITE and the article isn't maintained to the degree that someone has seen fit to remove it).
  • The "Filmography" and "Awards and nominations" sections are almost entirely devoid of sources.
  • His two younger brothers, Craig and Kent Jr., live in the Seattle area. – well they did when that source was written back in 2016, but this is a rather extraneous detail.
  • A casting agent for Dune producer Dino de Laurentiis was looking for a young actor to star in the film – anacoluthon.
  • Finally, Lynch cast MacLachlan in the starring role of Jeffrey Beaumont in Blue Velvet (1986) – "finally"? This was at the beginning of his career.
  • Oliver Stone's 1991 film The Doors, about the band of the same name – the band should be linked.
  • In the 1993 film version of Franz Kafka's The Trial – linking to the film like this is kind of an WP:EASTEREGG. I would expect this link to go to Kafka's book.
  • The "Winemaking" subsection seems rather out of place in the "Career" section. It also comes across as borderline promotional.
  • MacLachlan was devastated when his mother died – this is the kind of WP:EMPHATIC language WP:Writing better articles advises against. If there are any specifics to report about how it affected him, describe those instead. One would expect anyone with a good relationship to their mother to be devastated at the mother's death at the age of 53.

I might have given this a more thorough review with more specifics about how to improve it, but the nominator has been inactive for two months and only has 28 edits in total, so this appears to essentially be a drive-by nomination. TompaDompa (talk) 07:30, 17 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
