Fair use rationale for Image:LANlogo.PNG

edit

Image:LANlogo.PNG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 00:01, 6 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Reduced LAN Airlines fleet by more than 20 planes?

edit

Hello MilborneOne, please could you source, how you reduced the LAN Airlines fleet by arround 20 planes? I follow the evolution of the LAN fleet for years know, and even I admit I cannot tell you exactly the size of the fleet, I am quite sure they have not reduced their fleet that dramatically as you indicated (58 planes). Could you source a valid and reliable source, and if not, undo it to the old value. Thanks in advance. --81.210.144.26 (talk) 21:19, 25 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

The changed the fleet list to reflect the source used as indicated in the edit (currently note 1). If you change the numbers you need to quote a reliable source for those figures. Thanks you. MilborneOne (talk) 21:32, 25 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
Hi Milborne, I have not changed the values yet, as I am interested in clarifying this before in a clean way (so it's clear for everybody). I have checked the link you (?) have put under note 1, but that only refers to a magazine link within Wikipedia, without any further indication regarding the LAN fleet, neither it's date. You 'll surely understand this is not very reliable. I have a link from a reknown Airfleet page, which lists each plane in service, even including each Plane Reg. number, which refers to LAN's fleet of currently 84 active planes.

Have a look at:

http://www.planespotters.net/Airline/LAN-Airlines

I will update this soon, and I think you can agree with this. Cheers --81.210.144.26 (talk) 22:31, 25 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

LAN stocks post Pinera election

edit

LAN is going through a very interesting period post Pinera's election. More than a quarter of the shares will be sold to the Cueto family. I'm sure some interesting events are to come. In any case, I think a sub-section on the company's financial history would be a valuable addition. If anyone out there is interested, please do so. Thanks! --Neon Sky (talk) 23:21, 22 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

How could LAN be voted worst airline in the world in 2008 AND best airline in Latin America in the same year? This is logically impossible, unless there were only one airline in Latin America in 2008 (which is false). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 190.82.216.153 (talk) 18:13, 12 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

"LAN be voted worst airline in the world in 2008" ? I have never heared about that and would quite surprise me, as LAN easily wins the Skytrax award for best latinamerican airlines since 10 consecutive years( with one exceptional 2nd place in 2004 behind TAM)... do you have any sources related to this? I really doubt it... --194.203.215.254 (talk) 13:15, 14 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Requested move 5 February 2023

edit
The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

The result of the move request was: no consensus. Seems like there's an idea to move LATAM Airlines Group to LATAM Airlines; that might be something to discuss at talk:LATAM Airlines Group? ErikHaugen (talk | contribs) 17:36, 18 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

LATAM ChileLATAM – LATAM is the name of the main airline, the subsidiary for domestic flights LATAM Express, is LATAM Chile. To understand this, it must be taken into account that the same differentiation established between LATAM and LATAM Airlines Group also applies to LATAM Express: While the first is the brand of the airline of Chilean origin, the second is the name of the multinational business consortium that encompasses all its international affiliates (LATAM Chile, LATAM Colombia, LATAM Ecuador, LATAM Perú, LATAM Brasil, LATAM Paraguay and LATAM Cargo sub-affiliates). LATAM Express is LATAM Chile, the subsidiary that mostly operates domestic flights from Chile or destinations that depart from the national territory, therefore, and consequently, the LATAM Express article should be renamed LATAM Chile. As a last point, take into account the Spanish version for each article mentioned, since it has the correct titles. I am attentive to any comment.Habok27 (talk) 00:12, 5 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

Oppose LATAM is a disambiguation page for one and the phrase is more commonly used as an abbreviation for Latin America, which is obviously more of a notable topic than some company. --Killuminator (talk) 13:14, 10 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
In that case the article could be renamed to LATAM Airlines. Would it be necessary to create another request for that option? Habok27 (talk) 14:56, 10 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
There's an article called LATAM Airlines Group already and there are multiple pages for various subsidiaries in various countries, including this one. --Killuminator (talk) 20:06, 10 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
