As a photojournalist who shoots Nikon I can safely say that the LBCAST sensor in the D2H and D2Hs sensor sounds nothing like the one described in this article. I have used the D2H hundreds of times with terrible results. It is possibly the noisiest professional sensor out there. The failure of the D2H sensor is the reason why many nikon photogs have switched to Canon and why most Nikon papers still shoot with the extremely outdated Nikon D1H. Ask any photog in the biz who has worked with a D2H with an ISO above 400, and they will tell you that D2H and it's 8.5 fps are practically useless. Hopefully the D3 series will be better...if it ever comes out.
Short story: The sensor is not what this article states. It does not have low noise in shadows or low-light. Quite the opposite. This sensor produces more digital noise than any other pro DSLR on the market.
