Not about Mona Lisa
editWell, whaddaya know. All my life I've believed this opera was based on the woman we know as the Mona Lisa. I've never seen it staged or heard it complete, only a couple of arias. For other benighted souls, maybe we should state that the "La Gioconda" of the title has nothing to do with the woman in famous painting. -- Jack of Oz ... speak! ... 11:12, 6 March 2010 (UTC)
