"Toisen" Used by A. von Humboldt
editDon't know how best to note this, but it is of considerable help when viewing, to know that the units used by Humboldt on his Chimborazo Map [1], which he called Toisen, compute to the Marienberg Lachter, at 1.9488m.172.103.138.179 (talk) 07:18, 29 May 2019 (UTC)just some Wiki user who's just spent 1 1/2 hours tracking down what "Toisen" is/are...
- I've added it as a redirect. Bermicourt (talk) 10:12, 29 May 2019 (UTC)
- They meant Toise. And it's not the same, but roughly comparable. As the Lachters differ from region to region and times, so does the Toise. --Markscheider (talk) 07:51, 30 May 2019 (UTC)
