Should be moved

edit

The "Plot Details" in this article, should be moved to Sleepy Hollow (film). GoodDay 23:04, 30 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Is anybody actually going to do that?

Lady?

edit

Using that term is fundamentally incorrect. Granted that at the time the movie is set, the colonies had until very recently been a British possession, Baltus was never established as a lord of any kind. Therefore, he was Master Van Tassel and his wife would be known as Mistress Van Tassel, not Lady. I believe the text of this article should be edited to reflect that.

Hmm. You may be right but that is the title by which she is referred to in the film and during the ending credits. --Jupiter Optimus Maximus (talk) 22:03, 17 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

The Van Tassels were of Dutch extraction, not british. I'm not going to claim to know anything of Dutch nobility, but if it is anything like scottish nobility, then a Laird or Lord of the Manor, then Lord is quite correct. As for the fiction within the film, if that is the name of the character as described by the writer then it shouldn't be changed. This is the problem of trying to render fiction and 'in-universe' characters in non-fiction terms using wikipedia conventions. Proberton (talk) 05:18, 23 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
