Laguna's FFVIII's deuteragonist?

Sorry, but there was an edit made and I just wanted to clarify why I reverted here. I wouldn't exactly say Laguna was a deuteragonist - his connection to Squall was only strengthened late in the game. It just doesn't fit right. And also, I thought deuteragonist/? was only used for Greek classical dramas? Can it be used talking about a video game character? — CuaHL 06:13, 7 September 2005 (UTC)

Caraway planned Julia's death...?

Where on earth did this come from? The reason she MARRIED Caraway, as stated in-game is because she lost Laguna and he comforted her! Can I get some comment on this, please? - Elena 18:02, 13 January 2006 (UTC)

• Presumably after their marriage, Caraway expected that Julia would have forgetten about the man in the Galbadian army (Laguna). However, several years after their marriage, Caraway somehow found out that she still loved this man. Likely in jealousy, Caraway then planned for her death to look like an accident. There was no assassination of Julia Heartilly, planned by Caraway or otherwise. She died in an automobile accident, with emphasis on "accident." Period. It's not mentioned anywhere in the game whatsoever, and it's not in the FFVIII Ultimania Guide either. It's not true. Period.

Before anyone begins throwing out "Prove it's not true!"... considering how absurd this idea is, the burden of proof for proving it as true lies on someone who says that it's true. They need to provide the proof.

I'm removing the false information from the article.

Julia demise controversy

These crazy FF statements. Lately I’ve taken the time to analyse all the articles made on FF VIII and so far I’m still not impressed.

Have you actually played the game to verify this conjecture or is this just a roomer that you presume is true? I’ve read the script over a dozen or more times, I still haven’t found anything about “supposed assassination attempt of Julia Heartilly”

You know Elena, regardless of how many time you’ve actually play the game there are certain elements of the story which where left out or added on.

Laguna's Presidency Under Threat? Since When?

There's a paragraph in the Present section that speaks of Laguna's presidency being in jepardy. Where in the game did it ever say that? I did not speculation on post-game events is the sort of material that would be acceptable.

• Why is the whole impeachment thing back again? Maybe it's better this time that it doesn't say it actually happens, but I am not impressed that it's there again, no matter the phrasing.

I did a quick check of the information menu in-game, and it does say that Laguna has caught some criticism for Esthar's isolationist nature, but nothing else. Peptuck 19:33, 2 February 2007 (UTC)

Note for "Family" section

It says at the end of this section that Laguna gives Raine a ring, that the ring was passed on to Squall and that he gave it to Rinoa. The ring shown on the FMV that Laguna gives Raine does not appear to be the same ring that Squall gives to Rinoa, which is what that sentence implied. Squall gave Rinoa his Griever ring. It was forged with the image of a lion. The ring that Laguna gives Raine looks unembellished if I remember correctly. Unless Squall had the ring altered later in life, there's nothing that says this is the same ring.

• Additionally, I would point out that the segment on the person who died to save their daughter seems to have no relation to Squall, Laguna, or Raine; a thorough exploration of Dollet reveals a very minor subplot revolving around the little girl at the beach near the X-ATM092 wreckage which seems to have more relevance to the note found in the pub. These notes sound more like they're written by the pub owner than anyone, and only mentions Laguna in passing. I'm going to modify the article to reflect this; if anyone has an objection they can revert it. Peptuck 14:18, 22 June 2006 (UTC)

Birthday?

I'm pretty sure his birthday is January 3rd, because I remember reading it and being surprised a video game character shared my birthday. Is this even noteworthy to put on Laguna's page though?
