Lake or Lac?
editIs there any reason this article's title is in English? the town's article's title is in French, and it seems weird to have "Lake" when there's an accent in "Mégantic". Ignatzmice•talk 16:25, 12 July 2013 (UTC)
- As per the Manual of Style for Canada-related articles, place names should reflect actual English usage. We would determine actual usage by looking at English-language sources in which the lake is mentioned, and adopting the name that the majority of sources use. Generally speaking most articles on lakes in Quebec are written "Lake ...". --MTLskyline (talk) 18:21, 12 July 2013 (UTC)
- The town is a set term, "Lac-Megantic", the lake's name is "Megantic", so is not a set term. (note, the town has a hyphen, the lake does not) -- 76.65.128.222 (talk) 02:46, 13 July 2013 (UTC)
